Creative Ways to Deal with Anger
Anger is part of the grieving process we go through. Everyone views this emotion differently. When you have been through trauma or anything hard in your life we feel anger. Some say to feel it and go through it, which it is true to feel your emotions but don't stay there.
I am a creative person and I have found using it on my Art helps. Try painting. Even if you have no idea what you’re doing, pick up a brush and just paint whatever colors you’re feeling. Instead of just sitting with your emotions, release them. Writing of course is another one. Releasing your thoughts in journaling. Singing is another fun one. Whether it's in the shower or in the car or karaoke. It's a good way to let it out. Also music in general is amazing. Put on your favorite music. Healing frequency music is something I have been learning about the past few years. There are certain frequencies that are very healing such as 432 hz. Try some arts and crafts and make things.
Sometimes we have no idea how many different talents we have until we try. No matter how the project comes out it's a fun outlet to do either with yourself or others. Board games are great as well and you can involve others with this. I have made wish jars and I had so much fun doing it. I took an old jar and painted it and cut up paper and put my wishes and goals in the jar. Also making vision boards are fun as well. Getting construction paper and cutting out magazine clippings and pasting your wishes and goals on the construction paper is another fun way to release your anger. It helps you also to look forward to more positive things in life.
Exercise is another great way to let off that steam! For those of you who do not want to go to the gym there are many alternatives! I found a great website called the daily om and they have courses on it! They have yoga and fitness. I received a certificate in energy medicine yoga on that website. Energy yoga helps our energy flow. We are made of energy and energy can get stuck or stagnant. That is why we need to move. They also have many other courses on there such as anxiety, depression and writing etc!
Starting a new hobby is another great way to express yourself! Not to mention whenever we are doing things we love it helps us release that anger and stuck energy. Sometimes after traumatic events we feel lost or not even sure who we are for a while. But staying creative will really help you find your passions again. I would love to hear what some of your creative outlets are or hobbies!
